Date day, Leopard print & Half term #LittleLoves

life as our little family

I can’t quite believe we are at the end of our first half term. Already I feel like the school year is flying by, and whilst I know that there is a little long while to go yet, in another blink of an eye it will be time for the man with a long white beard and a round belly to appear. It has been a lovely weekend and week here, although I did have a little wobble over on my IG feed on Wednesday evening about the dreaded parenting guilt – not being there enough when he is on his holidays and in general really, I do feel so blessed to be the one he calls mummy. Or at the moment tubby which his is new nickname for everyone. Lovely, although quite funny.

And so here are this week’s little loves, focussing heavily on leopard print & cocktails…

A questionable link (I do apologise now), but we read many a cocktail menu on Saturday. I love that we make time for each, and what better way than eating good food at Thai Khun which other than eating in actual Thailand is the closest to being there. And drinking some really tasty cocktails in some of our favourite bars in Manchester. If you haven’t visited The Sugar Junction in the Northern Quarter (cocktails & cake) or Artisan in Spinningfields then you must. If you are going to Artisan then do go upstairs, far nicer than the bar area downstairs.

I’d like to say something less predictable but like most of the world we watched The Walking Dead on Monday evening. To say that I was traumatised doesn’t quite touched cut it. I was so close to leaving the room, I’m glad that I didn’t but core blimey it was blooming awful to watch.

Lots of carpool karaoke our little family style. On Monday I spent the day with our gorgeous boy as it is half term week here for us. He has his own little playlist on Spotify so in between our adventures I enjoyed listening to him sing his little heart out to Uptown Funk, EX’s and OH’s and Adventure of a Lifetime. This boy, he fills my mummy heart with so much joy.

We made the effort to print off more photos from our little family adventures. Some photos which have never been printed, mainly ones of us together, so many happy moments all significant in the diary. As much as I know we will soon run out of space on our photo wall I am determined to print more and more of our moments captured. That reminds me I have a little giveaway running on my blog, a little collaboration with LALALAB who we print all our photos with. So if you fancy some vintage prints then do pop over to my post here.

My new grey coat from New Look which I saw over on Morgana’s little loves last week. And let’s not forget my new leopard print skirt from Zara for our date day in Manchester last Saturday. Both are my new favourites. Lil G has been sporting some of his new AW gear from Gap and Zara. He chose these himself, I think we may have a mini fashionista in the making, the boy has style.

And lastly…

Mr H is off to the football on Saturday so I get to spend the afternoon with my gorgeous boy. Depending on the weather we could either be enjoying a walk in the woods (his new favourite) or treating ourselves to afternoon tea at a new cafe in town. Or maybe both if we are lucky. Have a lovely weekend little loves crew, same time next week?

I loved following your date day on Ig stories! Those cocktails and Thai food is just too good-we honeymooned in Thailand and I could eat it every day! Pretty sure the walking dead would terrify me so I’m one of the only people around that hasn’t watched it and I’m not sure I plan on it either I really must print out some photos more often as it’s been so long since I did and I would love to update our frames and a photo wall sounds fab! Have a great weekend x

  2. Life As Our Little Family

Aww thank you honey. We honeymooned in Thailand too, there is nothing like being there. It really is a great series honey. Good luck in the giveaway x

  3. Jade @ Captured By Jade

I feel like I’m one of the few people who doesn’t watch The Walking Dead – but by the sounds of it on Twitter this week’s episode was pretty gruesome!
I feel like a lot of us don’t really print many pictures out any more. I remember being younger and pouring over our photo albums for hours. I make scrapbooks now for my family, so print photos for those, but other than that everything is stored digitally.
I hope you have a wonderful mummy-son date this weekend, however you end up spending it!

  4. Life As Our Little Family

Oh it was so gruesome. You’re so right Jade, I remember always looking at albums as a young girl. Thank you so much, I hope you have a lovely weekend x

  5. Franki ~ Wonderful Chaos

Love the skirt! I think I may need one.
Sounds like a good apart from the little wobble you had I think we’ve all been there, being a working mum is hard. X

  6. Life As Our Little Family

Definitely look up the skirt, its a keeper. Thanks for the kind words honey x

  7. Chantal Milk&Nappies

  11. I think most Little Lovers have mentioned TWD! It’s definitely played a huge part this week.. I love your coat! The colour is gorgeous! Hope your feeling a bit better, trust me we all suffer with mummy guilt, you are such a good mummy to lil G! Have a wonderful weekend lovely xx

  12. Life As Our Little Family

I guess there was no missing it this week. The coat is definitely a favourite although I picked up another new one this weekend and i’m sure that will be my new favourite now. Have a lovely weekend x

  13. love your blog, i’ve been following you for a while now. Last week on your insta stories you were in a bar in Manchester which i’d not seen before. It was huge, with high ceilings and large windows? Sorry not much help, but if you can remember? We love Sugar Junction too xx

  14. Life As Our Little Family

Aww thank you Charlotte. I hope you enjoy Refuge x

  15. Halina Vie Choufleur

That skirt is AMAZING. I always forget about Zara but they really do have such fantastic clothes, don’t they? It looks great on you – I think I’ve got too much bum for it to look quite as good on me, as pleats tend to exacerbate that area! Also, beautiful photos throughout, especially those cocktail ones. Yuuum. #LittleLoves

  16. Clare @ Maybush Studio

I need to get some photos printed, but more importantly I need to put together a few photo books for Christmas… less than two months to go and these things take a bit of time! By the way, talking of photos… so call that Artisan has a photo booth!

  17. Life As Our Little Family

It is such a lovely thing to do, I remember looking back over photo albums when I was a little girl. And yes the photo booth is such a lovely idea. So glad we went into the bar just for that moment really
