Healing Goji Berry Tea

Hot cup of Goji Tea while reading Yoga magazine = good times!

I just LOVE the simplicity of this goji berry tea.  I discussed the benefits of goji berries several posts back HERE.  Super quick and simple to brew up and your body will THANK YOU for it.  Mine sure does!

  • handful of organic goji berries (I used Mum’s Original)
  • fresh lemon juice to taste
  • sweetener of choice ( I used local, raw honey)

Video for recipe below!

Place ingredients in your mug of choice (I use Jay Milner’s pottery), pour in HOT water, let steep for 5 – 10 minutes and ENJOY the drinking experience.   Chew the little plump goji’s as they bypass your lips while drinking your tea and reap the benefits.

I have had several requests and inquiries as to WHO made the mug I use in most of my tea/ tonic pictures.  It is JAY MILNER.  This is one TALENTED ceramic artist who is also one of our great friends.  Over the Christmas holidays, Scott and I were fortunate enough to travel to Gulfport, Mississippi to spend several days with him and his family.  His wife, Ginger, is one of my BEST friends.

My dearest friend! Love you bunches!

She is a talented and creative interior designer.  Her work BLOWS ME AWAY.  She has such an eye for colors, textures and has MANY pleased and happy customers.

We had a BLAST visiting with Ginger, Jay and their beautiful daughter, Maya.

Maya, me and Ginger on December 27, 2012 – it was COLD and WINDY!

One day while we were visiting the museum that Jay works at – creating his amazing ceramic pottery, Scott and I took advantage of the experience and got a video for you all to watch and meet Jay (along with Ginger and Maya).  The Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art, where Jay works, is located right across the street from the beach in Biloxi, MS and several of its buildings suffered some pretty severe damage from hurricane Katrina, so many of the buildings have just been recently rebuilt. In fact, one of the massive casino barges that was docked near there ended up beached on the property!

Hope you enjoy the interview!  If you are interested in his work and would like some custom pieces for yourself, contact me and I will connect you with him.

Goblets that can be used for cold or hot drinks. I started using mine for hot herbal tonics and LOVE them! Very versatile and super COOL!

Scott and I on Christmas day 2012. We were out on a pier while on our bike ride – we ended up riding 18 miles that day. It was so much fun and felt great to get out and MOVE! We don’t ride bikes in our area so much because there are SO MANY hills. On the beach, it was mostly flat land and we could GO and GO. I also was spending quality time with my man!

Happy New Year to you all! We wish you much happiness, joy, creativity, laughter and LOVE in 2013. Thanks for being a part of our family and sharing yourselves with us. YOU are amazing! :)

  1. Hi Kibby ! Beautiful photos of Mississippi… ! Favorite word to spell! I drink tea a lot and I wondered what is the best product (s) to prepare tea… I usually stick a mug in the microwave with water then steep for a couple of minutes. Do you have have way to make your tea? Thanks! Becky

    • Hi Becky! It is a fun word to spell! :) I know using a microwave is convenient to use but I don’t recommend them at all. Quite toxic (even for water) and it defeats the whole point of creating something good for our bodies to consume. Watch the video if you haven’t already – it shows how I make the tea and I have other videos/ recipes on blog (check out RECIPE section under category) to see more. I normally add water to a tea kettle, get REALLY HOT and then add to mug (with herbs/spices/tea bag/loose tea) and steep. I will make a video for you if you want me to for further clarification if you would like? There are many teas, etc. to choose from. Play around with what you like and I’ll share what I like on video – again let me know if you would like this? Have a great day!

      • Hi Libby ! Yes I would love a video. I just had a cup of Yerbe Mate tea.. and boiled water on the stove! Since I have been using the microwave to make my tea… what can I do to undo any damage I have done? And just made a green smoothie! I am going to order some Goji Berries and try the tea for today! Thanks for all the inspiration! I will ck out the recipes too.. Finally sunny here!! Yippeeee! :) thanks!

        • Hi Becky! Yes, the sun is out here today too and it just makes me HAPPIER. I will get together a video for you. Don’t worry about any damage from the microwave – just be aware of it and make changes to do things differently. By drinking teas/smoothies and making better food choices – you will be fine. No worries! Our bodies adapt and heal quickly when good positive changes are made. Talk with you soon. Have a great SUNNY day! :)

  2. Hi Kibby,
Just made the goji berry tea and it was so good that I made another one! Thanks for sharing.
I didn’t finish watching the video yet, it keeps freezing up on me but the pottery looks amazing.
Happy New Year to both of you!

    • Hi Joyce! Isn’t that tea just yummy! I did the same thing and made several myself. Buggers on the video freezing – try it again and watch to the end – good stuff!!! Happy New Years to you and keep in touch! :)

  3. Wow, what a talented family! I have been looking for months for a mug like the type Jay Milner makes! Those designs are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing. As soon as i get some goji berries, I am making the tea. I’ve tried a goji berry tea recipe before, but I’m sure this one will be delicious.
Oh, and what would the average price be for a mug?
